📝 Why: Alcohol can lower B vitamins in chronic heavy drinkers, especially thiamine (B1) – this is why long-term drinkers are often prescribed vitamins (NHS, 2023). But for most people enjoying an occasional night out, there’s little evidence that taking a B complex vitamin before drinking significantly helps prevent hangovers. Research reviews (including Mayo Clinic and NHS advice) don’t list B vitamins as proven hangover fixes and say dehydration plays a bigger role. Chronic deficiency is a risk with alcohol misuse, but popping B vitamins before a party isn’t a proven hangover shield.
